I had THE BEST day and so did Tom! I am so excited to see the photos so I can relive it all again! From start to finish everything was so seamless, I am very thankful for everyone’s input, it was perfect!!
What can we say except the biggest thank you from the bottom of our hearts. One of the biggest reasons we chose The Bell (other than the awesome atmosphere) was the confidence we had in Becky and team to organise the run up to and the running of our day and boy we weren’t wrong. You have all been just the most wonderful collection of wedding elves and you have got the running of weddings down to a fine art. Nothing was too much trouble from the outset, everyone was calm and collected on the day and knew exactly what to do when. I totally relaxed and handed over (not something I can easily do). Also getting up to clear up and finding it has been done was a cherry on the top.
We had an absolute blast and the most perfect day and we just wanted to say thank you.
We had the most beautiful wedding day, the staff were so helpful and amazing throughout the whole process. Becky was a huge help throughout the whole process, we didn’t have much time to plan everything and she made it all so much easier for us in terms of planning the day there and recommendations for other suppliers. On the day all the staff were sensational and the food was outstanding and had such good feedback from everyone, everything went extremely smoothly so we could just enjoy our day without any stress! I could not recommend this place enough, it is so unique an a beautiful place to get married.

Wow, what can I say. My husband and I got married at The Bell in March 2024, and it was just the most spectacular day! From the moment we visited The Bell we instantly fell in love and knew it was the venue for us. With its unique quirks and charm, The Bell was the perfect place to host our big day. The team were brilliant, and seamlessly set everything up for us (albeit we had 100s of wedding props and accessories!) The food was absolutely amazing and the lodges and rooms just beautiful. We couldn’t have wished for a better day, thank you to The Bell!
We got married at The Bell in November 2023 and it was honestly a flawless day. We went along the night before with our bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents for dinner and to stay over the night before and it was such a special evening. We felt very tended to! Then the day came around and from start to finish, we felt so stress-free and so like nothing was a problem, everything was taken out for our hands and we had a whole team that all helped to create the most perfect day! The team were all so friendly, approachable and helpful. In particular, my Dad has dementia and has some mobility issues – The Bell took note of this and really accommodated to make the whole day as easy as possible for him and as stress-free for myself and I will forever be grateful for this. It was the most beautiful day, and the communication in the lead up was amazing. I honestly felt no stress about the venue or food and drink after booking The Bell, everything was dealt with and thought of for us. Becky was incredible throughout the whole process! Josie, Oscar and Jon also all made the day so special and so enjoyable and of course all the rest of the team behind the day! Thank you so much to everyone at The Bell who gave us the best day of our lives!! Incredibly grateful and would recommend very very highly to anyone planning their wedding!
The Bell delivered in spades and we had the most perfect wedding day. The Bell was the first and only venue we saw and knew instantly we had to have our wedding there. Everyone who came commented on how well suited the venue was to our tastes and it was everyone’s first pub wedding. We have since had many friends who want to jump on the band wagon and have a pub wedding too! It really is the most cosy, quirky venue. Everyone who stayed enjoyed their rooms and were only sad they didn’t get to spend more time in them, which is also how we felt about the Love Nest! An extra night to relax in that bathtub would have been amazing – we can all dream!
Becky – thank you for your guidance throughout the whole booking and organising process, even though you hadn’t been in your role long, you absolutely could not tell! Your knowledge on all things “The Bell” and weddings was great, so thank you! Thank you also for being at the end of the phone/email line for any issues and always getting back to us quickly.
All of The Bell team on the day were fabulous and the whole day ran seamlessly. Special thanks to Josie – you were so lovely, attentive and friendly to all our guests and gently reminded us of times etc. so gently and professionally.

The Bell was a wonderful and magical wedding venue. Our wedding day there was absolutely incredible. Everything felt easy and was run like clockwork – from breakfast in bed to an ending by the firepit! The private spaces both upstairs and downstairs, as well as outdoors, are able to easily accommodate guests while making everyone feel at ease and welcome. The upstairs room is really special, and we got to be bathed in golden November light for our ceremony. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout the whole day – a special shout-out to Josie, who ran everything seamlessly, and to Oscar, who made our day by switching shifts to be with us! The food and drinks were exceptional – everyone commented on how talented the cooks were, and what a lovely and warm venue the Bell is. Absolutely recommend! We wish we could get married there again.
I think all our guests commented on what a cool and quirky venue The Bell is and how smoothly the day ran. We got married at The Bell on 3rd June 2023 and had the best day. The staff were absolutely brilliant and ensured the day ran like clockwork. They were friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate an unwell bridesmaid! A big shout out to Becky who was on hand to give advice and guidance whenever we needed it and ensured all our questions were answered. And also a big shout out to Jess who, along with Becky and the team, made the day what it was and put us at ease. You are all brilliant at your jobs. From Becky and Pip answering a gazillion questions from us, to Paris and crew working hard before and during the wedding. Special shout out to Oscar who on the day was a dream but also made sure we had fun during our tasting too. The barman and rest of staff too were such good fun.
Everyone loved the decor, the food and the rooms /lodges. The firepit and garden were the cherry on top of an enormous multi-layered beautiful cake.
I lost count of the number of times people commented on how much they loved the venue for our wedding. It was the first place we saw and we knew it was right for us. We loved the quirky vibe and it already looked amazing so it didn’t take much additional decoration. The staff were all super helpful from the first enquiry until the day itself. Particular thanks go to Jess and Joh for coordination the day and taking the pressure off so we could focus on having fun! They really took all the stress out of the day. The red carpet walk made for some awesome and unique photos, as did the beautiful garden with tulips in bloom. We look forward to coming back for our anniversary stay!
We had the most fantastic wedding at The Bell. Throughout the whole process everyone at the bell were accommodating and helpful team mates who thought of details that even we had overlooked.
The day itself was run like clockwork but not in a way that made it feel mechanical. Jess was just attentive enough, appearing at moments to keep things on track but blending into the background for the majority.
The use of the space is fantastic and many of our guests have complimented how much we were able to do with it and, of course, how fun and quirky it was.

The most wonderful wedding venue!! We can’t recommend the Bell enough! It has such a warm, cosy, quirky feel to it and just makes everyone happy! We had a smaller wedding of 52 people so I was concerned about being lost in a venue……the bell was heaven!
Our day was full of fun, laughter, singing, dancing, drinks, delicious food and alot of magical moments we can’t put into words. Tessa was amazing and always very responsive on the lead up to the wedding. Jon looked after us on the day and he was truly incredible!!

We truly didn’t have to worry about anything on the day. The whole venue is so beautiful and cosy and everyone loved the fire pit at the end of the night.

On the day, the team did an amazing job setting everything up, changing it throughout the day and clearing up at the end. I couldn’t believe how incredible it all looked and everything went so smoothly. All of the team were so friendly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The food was incredible, getting lots of compliments from our guests and definitely not a meal that we will forget. The bar staff were amazing with such quick service for everyone, and the coffee tequila was delicious!!
Will and I can truly say that we had the most perfect day and wouldn’t have changed anything.
We decided to postpone our original date due to covid restrictions that were in place, as they were preventing my Dad from travelling back to the UK. The Bell were very understanding and accommodating and moved us to August 2022 without hesitation.
Tessa has been amazing throughout, answering our many questions, accommodating last minute guest (and their food) changes and responding really quickly to everything. She even carried the train of my dress (it was so heavy!) as I walked up the stairs to our ceremony.
Jess who looked after us on the day was fantastic. She kept really calm on such a hectic day and was great at guiding us through to the next thing on the agenda.
We have also had a lot of lovely comments on the food; we are big foodies so wanted somewhere people could relax yet still enjoy great quality food and service. We definitely found that place at The Bell and cannot recommend them enough!

We originally booked The Bell in Ticehurst in the autumn of 2018 after it stood out for us as a unique, cosy, quirky wedding venue that suited us perfectly. We were going to have our wedding day at The Bell in April 2020 – but of course with the pandemic unfortunately this did not happen.
Whilst we were initially disappointed with having to postpone our wedding, The wedding manager Tessa and The Bell were nothing short of accommodating and offered us alternative dates with no fuss. This was also the case the 2nd and 3rd time we pushed the date due to the ongoing covid situation.
Our day finally came on 14th July 2022 and it was absolutely worth the wait.
On the wedding day itself, both my husband and I were very well looked after by the really friendly staff. No request was any bother, including helping in searching for a flower girl’s lost toy bunny!
Tessa, Bryce, Jess and all the team ensured the day ran without a hitch whilst simultaneously not feeling rushed.
The wedding breakfast banquet was of excellent quality and really impressed our guests – everyone came away well fed! It even received high praise from a guest who used to work as a hotel manager in locations around the world.
If you want a truly unique, intimate wedding venue that you and your guests will remember, look no further! The Bell in Ticehurst has it all.
After looking at a few venues and worrying we were never going to find ‘our place’, finding the Bell was just incredible and we both knew instantly it was everything we wanted in a wedding venue.
Tessa was amazing in gently helping us plan our day right from the early stages, answering any questions, replying to my dozens of emails and being there on the day with a huge smile and easing my nerves about everything going smoothly and to plan.
The staff at the Bell are wonderful and special mention to Jess and Bryce who just appeared to be on hand whenever we needed them and nailed the whole running of the day perfectly! The food and drink was so good which was really important to us.
Many of our guests have commented on how there were no moments of hanging around or feeling like you were waiting for the fun to start, it was simply fun from start to finish!
We can’t thank the Bell enough for giving us what we imagined our wedding to be and then that little bit more, it really was the best day of our lives!

We got married on the April bank holiday in 2022 and everything was absolutely amazing at the Bell. Tessa was fantastic from the start, answering all our questions and allowing us and our florist and photographers to come and visit when the space was free.
On the day Bryce and the team were amazing, making sure we all knew exactly where we had to be at the right time, making sure everything went off without a hitch and that our guests had everything they needed.
The food was absolutely delicious as well, I’m so happy with the choice we made.
It all made our day so perfect, we wanted something slightly different and we definitely got that at the Bell.
110% recommend The Bell as a wedding venue. We were due to have our wedding in 2019 in Greece but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. It was a breath of fresh air to find the team at The Bell and to organise everything within 2 months.
The wedding was beyond magical and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Bell is an incredible venue, but it was the staff who really made our day so special. Tessa was on hand from day one, answering all of our questions and recommended some great local suppliers.
Our weekend got off to rocky start with Storm Eunice cutting power to the venue on the Friday night, but the team went above and beyond to make sure the day went ahead and our guests had an incredible time.
A special mention to Bryce and Andrea (The Art Bunch) who are both amazing and decorated the whole venue by candlelight so everything was ready for the Saturday. Our friends and family can’t wait to visit again, and nor can we. Thanks guys and girls, you rock!
We got married at The Bell in mid January 2022. Tessa was wonderful since our first contact in early 2021 especially given the uncertainty of the wedding industry. Tessa was always quick to respond and no question was too silly for her. The meeting we had a couple of months before the date was also very helpful as it meant we could ensure we had everything organised. Tessa even came on the morning of the wedding and it was lovely to see her there before the ceremony. It just goes to show how much care she gives to her role.
The venue is amazing and very unique. The ‘big room’ is even more lovely since is has been refurbished, all of our guests loved the décor and enjoyed their rooms as well. The new bar area worked really well and meant that guests weren’t having to go through to the main pub bar. We also liked having two floors which meant guests who wanted to dance were able to be upstairs with the DJ and those who preferred a quieter setting were able to chat in the downstairs area. Service for the ceremony and wedding breakfast was perfect and very attentive. Jess, Jon and the rest of the team worked hard to ensure everything ran smoothly.
My husband and I got married at The Bell in December 2021. We were looking for a venue that would compliment the season and as soon as we visited The Bell we knew it was perfect. The cosy atmosphere and quirky features are what sold it to us, we felt like it reflected our personalities perfectly. Tessa was very attentive from day 1, swiftly responding to my hundreds of questions (I am sure fellow COVID brides can relate) and allowing us some extra flexibility due to the challenging never ending threat of further restrictions. On the day Bryce was fantastic – making sure the day ran smoothly and efficiently whilst also making us feel relaxed and at ease so we could enjoy our day 100%. All of our guests complimented our venue and said it was one of the most memorable weddings they had been to. We’ll certainly be back for many anniversaries in the future as it feels like a home from home and now has a very special place in our hearts. Thank you for the best day of our lives!
Our wedding at The Bell took place in November 2021. When I first suggested looking for a pub as either a reception venue or for the whole package, my husband thought I was joking. It was the first venue we visited and my husband to be took no more than a few minutes to agree that it was so us. We both love the venue! A relaxed venue with great attention to detail. Chandeliers, hand painted murial walls, trees indoors and quirky finishing touches. The deal was sealed when we met the amazing staff.
Tessa was lovely, chilled out and knowledgeable. She didn’t oversell, knowing the venue, the food and the staff would sell themselves.
Wedding planning was easy. I would ask Tessa a LOT of questions and she would always answer them quickly and helpfully give us ideas. We changed our mind on a few things and she was very accommodating. It felt very easy.
It is difficult to get great food for 90 people all at the same time, but not for The Bell! Food was simply amazing. Our guests still comment on the quality and quantity of the food. The chef accommodated some difficult dietary requirements and ensured everyone had plenty of wine throughout the day – we kept them busy with that request!!
Our wedding was rearranged 3 times due to covid, but nothing was too much for the venue and they helped us seamlessly organise the most amazing day.
Food was superb and plenty of it to keep us going throughout the day (suggest the evening Mac and cheese!). The staff were so attentive and Tess and Bryce kept everything moving and seamless throughout and we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Our close family all stayed at the venue too the night before and after which made a huge difference as it become a full weekend of celebrations, and the rooms, lodges and garden are simply beautiful.

The meal was out of this world, everyone has commented on how they have never had such good food mass catered.

After three date changes and a change of venue we finally were able to get married at the Bell! It was well worth the wait and it was the most perfect day. We went from a wedding of 80 down to just 23 family members due to covid but that didn’t stop us tying the knot!
The venue is incredible and extremely unique. It’s very true about being ” a place like no other”.
Tessa was very welcoming and helped us organise the most incredible wedding with our family. She was very approachable and reassuring when we had to move our date during the second lockdown. Despite all the changes, it happened and the team made our day run so smoothly. We truly could relax in the comfort of our nearest and dearest!

The Bell and the wonderful team that work there provided us with everything we needed for a day, and wedding eve, that provided more happiness, fun, laughter and joy than we could have imagined. Through a few lockdown induced date changes, Tessa (“Head of Weddings”) was incredibly supportive, kind and a brilliant sounding board as we each tried to fathom out what we could do within the “restrictions”. We didn’t feel restricted at all – you couldn’t at the Bell. It’s a one off location which we have loved for many years and every member of the team that played a part in our day was brilliant and part of our happy memories. Oscar and his team create sensational food; Tessa and her team on the day couldn’t have done more for us and our guests. Everyone loved it. We’d love to do it all again but will find plenty of other celebrations to return for; again and again. We will always be happy we discovered the Bell – we were only ever going to be married here. We didn’t consider anywhere else.
